Precious Metal

Appropriately named, Precious Metal is a luxury, custom-built, 46 foot steel, cutter sloop. She was built in Sidney, British Columbia in 1999 and has explored virtually every corner of the BC coastline since then including the west coast of Vancouver Island and Queen Charlotte Islands.

Precious Metal has a cherry wood interior with teak and holly flooring. In addition to the captain's quarters, she sleeps six people comfortably including: one deluxe stateroom with adjoining head/ shower/bathtub, one double bunk in the main salon (telescope dining table), a double bunk in the enclosed cockpit, a second head with shower, and third hot/cold shower on the aft swim deck.
Other amenities include surround sound stereo, TV, video, satellite phone and radio and washer/dryer. The fully-equipped galley features a fridge, freezer, Force Ten stove/oven, microwave and extensive storage areas.

The salon offers additional seating with excellent views of your surroundings
There is a fully enclosed cockpit for adverse weather conditions.  The clear curtains may be removed in balmy weather or replaced with  summer screens.

An impressive walk-in engine room allows full access to the substantial 100 hp Izuzu diesel engine, has a full size work bench, drill press, and single sea chest for all waste disposal. Precious Metal has a full compliment of sails including genoa, staysail, fully battened mainsail, and genaker.

Built for serious offshore sailing, Precious Metal weighs 50,000 pounds with a full keel and propeller casing. She holds close to 500 gallons of fuel and 300 gallons of water. Electronics include: Furuno Radar, GPS (2), Autohelm wind/speed/autopilot, and hydraulic steering. The 14 foot Polaris dinghy is equipped with a 15 horsepower outboard engine.
